Isamu Kato was born and raised in a loving family by his mother, a nurse, and his father, a local repair automobile man. Isamu was a normal and happy child growing up and he was fairly obedient to his parents. He loved spending time with his father at work and helping out whenever he could. His father would reward his good behavior with a piece of chocolate which Isamu grew fond of. Everything seemed perfect in his life, that was, until Isamu started to randomly forget certain events. At first, this only happened 1 or twice a year, but as he started getting older, his blackouts got more frequent. While he was confused about them he tried not to let it bother him. One day, he blacked out for an entire day- when he came to, his mother seemed rather scared and his father was missing. After finding professional help by a local, the man placed a restrain on Isamu and warned him to never take it off and to keep his emotions in check. At first, he was confused as to what he was talking about, but after being informed by his mother about his rather demon behavior he began to piece the puzzles as to his random blackouts.

After everything was settled and done Isamu asked his mother about his father. His mother informed him that he had gotten fed up with Isamu's bizarre behavior and left them both. Feeling hurt and alone, Isamu began to isolate himself. During middle school, he met and later on began to date a girl named Elaine. She was the only one in the school who wasn't afraid of him or found his attitude rude. She was patient and kind to him, helping to heal his heart a little at a time. During his last year of middle school, Isamu received a strange letter telling him he would be better off attending Gakuen Okoku- A school specialized with students with powers or other abnormalities. He was hesitant as he knew the school was expensive but was surprised to learn that the school was offering him to attend for free. Elaine convinced him to attend before she left for America.

With that being said and done, Isamu attended Gakuen Okoku and began to receive a bad reputation among the students. Eventually, everyone referred to him as "The Black Cat". Isamu is unaware he is a reincarnation of a former Titan and lover that used to protect the goddess Aura.

Facts:

+ He hates Kazuhiko because of how popular he is in school and the fact that he thinks that Kazuhiko is nothing but a spoiled rich kid.
+ He has a half brother from his father's side named Natsu. However, Isamu fails to acknowledge him as he still bares a grudge against his father.
+ Isamu has a love hate relationship with chocolate because it remind him of happier times but it also reminds him of his father.
+ Despite his attitude problem, he is actually pretty smart.
+ Isamu eventually develops strong feelings for Yue and hates it when guys flirt with her.
+ While he dresses in dark colors, he isn't afraid of wearing light or even bright colors.


Relationship to:

Yue Takana: Isamu and Yue both started off their relationship hating one another due to the fact their personalities crashed with one another. The two met when Isamu found her wandering around the campus, as though she was lost. They kept bumping into one another, and eventually, they decided to put their differences aside and become friends. Isamu was hesitant as she had also managed to befriend Kazuhiko. However, he decided to put up with him in order to befriend her. As time passed by, he began to feel a certain fondness of her. Eventually he realized that he had fallen in love with her when he would get jealous of her and any other male around her. He is unaware of the fact that she also loves him.

Kazuhiko Himura: Both hate one another. Isamu finds Kazuhiko as a know it all stuck up rich boy who takes pleasure in seeing people above him worship him. What he is unaware of is that Kazuhiko actually has a far worse life than him. Both often bicker, causing Yue to either stop them or leave them as she tends to get tired of the same routine. Isamu does, however, have some respect for him. He is quite strong and a very powerful opponent.

Yuki Hanaori: Isamu and Yuki see one another as siblings that tend to fight over who gets the last cookie before eventually sharing it. Isamu does tend to find her annoying at time, especially when she teasing him about his not-so-secret crush on Yue. While he seems to not care for her, in reality, he does. He cares very much about her and hates seeing her hurt or crying. Both tend to have some things in common, like their love for Yue, how they both knew Elaine, and how they're both with a single parent. (His feelings for Yuki change after the death of Yue. More info on that later.)

Artemis Evans: Annoying and persistent. Those are his thoughts on Artemis. He doesn't understand why in the world he likes Kazuhiko or how a small little boy can be a such a big problem. Isamu is unaware of the fact that Artemis hold a small hatred for him because of his "close" relationship with Kazuhiko.

Kari Saito: She is the only rich person that he actually likes. When she was first introduced, he hated her like he did Kazuhiko. However, he had a change of heart when he learned that Kari was ignored by her parents and yet she managed to keep a smile on her face and never hold a grudge towards anyone. When Kari suicided herself, he lost control of himself only to have Yue bring him back to reality. He holds a deep hatred towards Kari's family but he hates himself most of all- for not being able to save her.

Donghae Park: One word can be used to explain their relationship- Complicated. While Isamu sees him as a spoiled idol, Donghae would still like to consider him a friend. Isamu doesn't like calling him by his name, often referring him as "Idol". That is why whenever he does call him by his name, it comes off as a surprise. He does like Donghae but he also sees him as a rival for Yue's affections as he can tell that he likes her.

Titania Wallace: Both were friends in their infant years. They would spend hours playing with one another and were inseparable. She was never exposed to his demon side, but after she learned that his father had left she knew he would never be the same. Both lost contact with one another and he ignored her. Now that both are in the Academy, he has yet to talk to her alone.
